Bright’s team bring deep expertise in AI and IoT meshing integral roles in the development of iconic consumer platforms like Amazon Alexa, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung SmartThings.

Neil was brought on winter of 2022 to help define rich Creative pipelines across all BrightAI departments, and levels of hierarchy to further the Communication Design & overaching Creative Direction with BrightAI.

  • Define the BrightAI SmartCity, an illustrated concept presented to BrightAI to help turn complex subjects into bite-size narratives
    This was an intentional narrative concept, as Co-Founders stemmed from Samsung SmartThings
  • Create a useable, flexible icon framework working with the Noun Project. This encourages decentralized models, increasing Brand Accessibility for internal Creatives & pedestrians, alike.
  • Increase the usability and customization of the BrightAI Brand—building deeper Brand rules, guidelines, and systems for formatting across platforms like Mailchimp, Google Slides, Docs, and custom designs within Adobe Illustrator
  • Continue to encourage a hands-on, Iterative Brand Model— studying and restructuring internal Creative pipeline as needed

Commonweal

With a diverse 50 year history in the nonprofit space— Commonweal reached out early 2023 to begin their brand and website overhaul. Chosen over IDEO, Neil partnered w/ Brandon Roth to yield Creative Direction & Principal Brand Design. Commonweal's RFP requested a Brand ID and Web Platform that operated like a porous vessel; conveying 50 years of nonprofit support, 25+ programs ranging from Integrative Cancer Care to Prison Hospice, and an extremely involved and hands on staff & board.

Who We Are & What We Do

The Commonweal build required 6 months of intensive, process-oriented build time, multiple on-site workshops and observational trips, new models, IP, and organizational methods to properly explore and expand Who Commonweal Is and What Commonweal Does. It was an incredible journey and opportunity to work with Commonweal. Long walks with Michael Lerner, Oren Slozberg, Susan Grelock, and Kyra Epstein, as well as countless staff and board members.

This project was a gift. The entire staff of Commonweal is thoughtful and moving. Words cannot wrap up what this time meant. We* put our heart and soul into this work.

The Intuitive Toolkit is nested within Visual Identity Systems (VIS). When paired with Commonweal's pre-existing Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), the two create a powerful (and intuitive) format for creating and experiencing Commonweal's Identity across commonweal.org ↗
