The journey to define Local* takes many steps. 3 years walking within an unsure economy will make anyone question their sanity when starting a small business.

The journey to define Local* takes many steps.

3 years learning how to build a business when norms and hierarchies have shifted radically—will make anyone question their sanity.

From the outside perspective, those witnessing this pursuit have seen the ups and downs of just how much effort it takes to commit to a mission & vision. To find clarity just enough to move the needle just a few centimeters takes great care, understanding, and equal parts drive and interest. And yet, this process of starting Local* has felt extremely rewarding. Building frameworks to uphold a profitable business requires dedication to understanding all areas of success; constantly trimming the fat to render a higher performing result.

Across Accounting, Creative, Communication, Advertising/Marketing, Business Strategy... I've found that profitability finds true center when a machine holds good standings. With constant care to the machine of Local* stems awareness. Awareness further drives the incessant desire "do better." To be better.

It's at this stage of doing better and being better that I've found a familiar and constant hum. A place I wish to further broaden from the inside out.

And so, I began a changelog in 2021 to capture my process of starting a business. Each time I made an update to my studio site—a coded tag was added. These coded tags follow a language system called Local* Semantics working under two self-defined algorithms called AVA & AHA. More on that later.

As I transfer my website to a new platform, /changelog has become a larger Branded Product in my arsenal. It is with transparency that I see privacy, and with privacy comes commodity in 2023. Recording (and profiting from) our process is where I see advancements in privacy. Or, if we are to follow Local* Semantics— [privacy] or [p].
